Gap Inc. has launched Bridgette, an AI-powered career guide designed to help people find and apply for seasonal jobs across Gap, Old Navy, Athleta and Banana Republic. The company expects to receive around 200,000 seasonal employment applications.

Built using technology from Paradox and Workday Recruiting, Bridgette answers common questions, guides applicants through the hiring process, schedules interviews and sends reminders. Gap says the tool is intended to reduce administrative work for store managers so they can focus on conversations and hiring decisions.

The company has piloted Bridgette at more than 100 stores and six regional distribution centers since June. Nearly 45,000 people have used it, and it has scheduled more than 7,000 interviews, according to Gap. The company is recruiting for full-time and part-time seasonal roles at its stores and distribution centers, but has not said how many positions it plans to fill.

Gap Inc. Chief People Officer Amy Thompson said the company is using AI to reduce friction for applicants and its teams, while leaving personal interactions and hiring decisions to employees.

The hiring tool joins other AI applications Gap has introduced for shoppers. Alta Daily creates outfit suggestions based on a customer’s budget, schedule and local weather, while Daydream generates outfit ideas from search queries and products across the company’s brands.
