Trade unions now have the right to access workplaces to speak with workers under new employment provisions reported by Personnel Today.
The rights cover union representation, recruitment and organisation of workers, as well as activities intended to facilitate collective bargaining.
The changes are among a number of employment law measures due to take effect in October. Employers are advised to consider how they should respond when a trade union requests access to their workplace.
